Etiquette Invitations
Invitations are usually sent out by whoever is hosting the wedding at least 6 weeks before the event.
The following examples give you some idea of the wording depending on the host(s):
- Brides Parents as Hosts : Mr & Mrs Mathew Turner request the pleasure of.......at the marriage of their daughter Claire to Mr Ian Mathew Loose.
- Bride and Groom as Hosts : Miss Claire Turner and Mr Ian Matthew Loose request the pleasure of .......... at their marriage
- Divorced Parents as Hosts : Mr Mathew Turner and Mrs Hilda Jones (if mother has changed her name) request the pleasure of ........at the marriage of their daughter Claire to Mr Ian Mathew Loose
- Remarried Mother/Father as Hosts : Mr and Mrs Robert Jenkins/Mr and Mrs Mathew Turner request the pleasure of the marriage of her/his daughter Claire to Mr Ian Mathew Loose
- Widowed Mother as Host : Mrs Mathew Turner requests the pleasure of ...... at the marriage of her daughter Claire to Mr Ian Mathew Loose
- Grooms parents as Hosts : Mr and Mrs Loose request the pleasure of...... at the marriage of their son Mr Ian Matthew Loose to Miss Claire Turner.
Invite to evening reception: Mr & Mrs Mathew Turner request the pleasure of ........ At the evening reception following the marriage of their daughter Claire to Mr Ian Matthew Loose.
All of the above should then be followed by time and details of the wedding ceremony/reception and include RSVP details.
