Hints & Tips for wedding flowers
Always dry off hand tied bouquets if delivered in water at least half an hour before the wedding, to avoid any marks from wet stems.
Bear in mind that very young bridesmaids have a tendency to swing and throw flowers, pomanders or bouquets may not be wise (pomanders can be a little heavy)
Be aware that corsages are now available on magnets rather that pins, if any outfit is lightweight this is advisable.
Check that your florist has removed all pollen from lilies, etc to avoid staining
Keep flowers covered in the packaging they have arrived in, and keep cool. A fridge is too extreme, an outbuilding i.e. shed, garage is suitable
Check with venues before considering using candles or fixing items in position with tape or tacks etc.
If possible collect photographs and fabrics, etc to give to your florist, in order that they can understand the type of theme you are looking for
Choose styles & themes that reflect your personality, if you are an extrovert, you won't want a style that is run of the mill. Likewise if are more demure, you won't want an all singing all dancing bouquet. You need to be comfortable with whatever you choose!
A good florist will recognise your style and personality throughout the consultation process.
If you feel comfortable with your florist and trust their expertise then they are the ones to choose.
